OUR STORY
At Haute Haus Wellness Escapes, everything we create is rooted in connection — to nature, to each other, and to the small moments that stay with you long after your trip ends.
Our homes were intentionally designed with wellness at their core. From natural lime wash paints and organic wood siding to Colorado-made products, every detail supports a healthy, rejuvenating stay. You’ll find amenities inspired by our own travels — steam showers and Nordic saunas, a private Wellness Center, and spaces that encourage slowing down and reconnecting.
We also believe in lifting up our local community. The coffee you’ll sip in the morning is from Mountain Dog Roasters in Colorado Springs, and the artisan soaps and skincare you’ll discover in the Wellness Center are by Merigold, a woman-owned business in Denver.
More than a place to stay — it’s your mountain basecamp for reconnection, restoration, and memories that last well beyond your stay.

Lifelong travelers and explorers at heart. We’ve always been drawn to meaningful stays over traditional resorts — the kind of places where you can immerse yourself in a new setting while still maintaining the little daily rituals that make you feel your best.
Our hosting journey began in 2015, when we turned a spare room in our Pismo Beach, CA home into our first Airbnb. That experience sparked a love for welcoming travelers and curating spaces that feel intentional, not cookie-cutter. Then, during our trip to Switzerland in 2016, we stayed with hosts who left a lasting impression. Their thoughtful details, hospitality, and deep connection inspired us to dream bigger: to create destinations where other travelers could experience that same sense of ease and belonging.
By 2021, our family had grown, and we began searching for a “home base” — a place to return to between moves and give our children the same sense of wonder and freedom that nature and cabins had given us growing up. We fell in love with Alma, Colorado, a quiet mountain town with a vibrant community and a landscape that felt like home.
And that's where Haute Haus Wellness Escapes was born. Follow our journey below...

OUR JOURNEY
2011
We met, fell in love, and got to work renovating our first home... and a sailboat (because why not?)
2016
Traveled to Switzerland and we were deeply inspired by our incredible hosts. We saw firsthand what intentional hospitality could feel like and knew we wanted to share that same feeling with others.
2020
Honeymooned in Japan and fell in love with the culture of wellness: onsens, saunas, and the art of intentional relaxation. We dreamed of bringing that feeling into our own future spaces.
From hurricanes to hope
Two back-to-back hurricanes (Laura and Delta) devastated our Louisiana home. We rebuilt from the ground up while expecting our first child and converted the attic into a rental to offset income and stay afloat.
2022
We broke ground on the Haute Haus A-frame.
Welcomed our son into the world! With two little ones in tow, our “why” for creating restful, connected spaces became even clearer.
2015
Moved to Pismo Beach, CA. Renovated our house and launched our first hosting experience, a humble duplex conversion that sparked a deep love for creating meaningful stays.
2018-2019
Moved to Louisiana and took on a historic Victorian home renovation — a project that became even more special when we turned it into our wedding venue!
2021
Our daughter was born — and we signed for our first Colorado cabin… while in labor! With the insurance payout from the hurricanes, we purchased a cabin on two lots in Alma, CO. The dream had a home.
Sold our Louisiana home and moved to Texas, making monthly trips to the Rockies to renovate the original cabin and begin plans for our dream build.
2024
We welcomed our very first guests to the Haute Haus A-frame — a curated family retreat designed to help you stay in, breathe out, and reconnect with what matters most.
